Junior Lady Cavs Bring SWOSSA Basketball Title Home

These junior girls are a special group!

After sweeping through the WECSSAA playoffs and beating every team by at least 24 points, the team travelled to Petrolia to take on Lambton Central Collegiate in the SWOSSA title game. Their opponent was a young and improving team but no match for these Lady Cavs.

The girls jumped out to an early lead and never looked back! They led 39-12 at the half and went on to win 63-29.

Zoe Toews led the way with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Arissa Jitani came up big with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Addison Dyck had 9 points and 6 rebounds.

Piper Scherer had 7 points and 6 rebounds while Maddie Audet had 6 points and 2 assists. Mady Stanley had 4 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Kamora Buzek fought through sickness to deliver 3 points and 2 steals. Emmerson Jadischke had 2 points, 3 rebounds, and offered solid defense.

Serena McMillian had 2 points and 3 boards and Pauline Ward added 2 points and 2 rebounds. Lily Mora and Alexis Tindall contributed to the win, as well.

Maggie Roy missed the title game due to injury.

All of these girls are great players and great to coach. They went 11-6 on the year with their only losses coming to AAA schools.

Thank you to coaches Rudy Dyck and Bob Lynch as well as teacher-rep Angela Jitani and team statistician Mirella Jitani for their time spent during the year.

Great season girls!
