This week, the Kingsville Times spoke with Felishia to learn more about BioEnergetics and how it works to improve health naturally.

What was the motivation for starting your business?
Felishia Ferguson:
For a decade I battled with “chronic illness” and was given many labels or diagnosis, the main one being “Lyme disease.” After spending years dedicated to getting well, learning, studying, growing, I entered the holistic field and learned what true wellness was and how to achieve it.
It is definitely a journey and no two people’s journeys or needs are identical. It is also critical that every aspect of a person is addressed in order to achieve true health. What kept me going was trusting that God was doing something amazing in my journey and knowing that I was going to be able to help others on the other side of this!
So my motivation in starting this practice is all of the people who are desperate, lost and hopeless as they struggle with health issues and can’t find any real answers. I hope to be one essential part of their healing journey. I want to share all of the incredible healing tools, the knowledge and compassion that I learned and developed along the way that helped me journey into wellness and be free from illness.
KT:
What advice would you give to others who might be considering starting a business?
FF:
Identify your passions and gifts, and let those guide your career choice! Don’t feel like you have to have it all together. Yes, take time to develop a plan, surround yourself with wise and trusted advisors but don’t feel like you have to have every little detailed figured out ahead of time, or that you have to have all the answers to every question. Establish a plan then just jump in.
KT:
Who are your target clients?
FF:
This is what I love about what I do … EVERYONE can benefit from BioEnergetics and the holistic approach to health. Of course I have a passion for the “chronic” cases but I also have a passion for people dealing with fertility and postpartum challenges.
That being said, whether you have a child with autism or developmental issues, whether you have minor health complaints or serious conditions, allergies or gut issues, BioEnergetics and the holistic approach can benefit everyone!
I don’t treat or diagnose any conditions or diseases. I help restore balance (homeostasis) to the body by helping activate the body’s own healing abilities so it can heal and restore itself!
KT:
How would you describe your services and/or products?
FF:
All of the services I offer are focused on getting to the root of a person’s health issues. Both their symptoms, and their lifestyle habits (anything from diet, to exercise, sleep and even beliefs) act as clues to show me where the imbalance is stemming from.
The first step is evaluation. I’ll identify imbalances using muscle testing. I also use two other techniques to identify if a person’s systems are “turned on” so to speak, then I measure to see how much energy a person’s organ systems have.
So I am identifying if their cells are running on next to no “horse power,” or if they have the energy they need. I can then put energy into those weakened systems. Finally I use the BioEnergetics device, which uses a gentle electromagnetic frequency, to reintroduce the body to those stressors. Once the body sees them, it corrects and heals itself!
All of my services are natural health care options that are holistic based, non-invasive, safe, and always address the root, not just the symptoms.

What is your business motto?
FF:
I don’t yet have an official motto, but there is a Bible verse hanging in my office that says “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”
~ Proverbs 11:2
I believe when I come to the appointments with humility, and a willingness to learn, together, my clients and I can accomplish great things for their overall health and wellbeing! And I always strive to treat everyone, no matter where they come from or what they deal with, with respect, compassion and understanding.
KT:
What are your plans for business growth? New services and/or products that clients can look out for?
FF:
I have just added two different types of energy devices that I believe complement the BioEnergetic work I do. For the rest of my career I will continuously be learning and adding modalities or techniques to the practice that I believe will support and assist clients in healing.
