If you live in Kingsville, you’ll know that Hallowe’en doesn’t end on October 31. Our town celebrations continue on into the new month with the pumpkin parade!
If you’re a Hallowe’en enthusiast, why not share your artistry by bringing your pumpkin to Lakeside Park on November 1? Drop-off time is between noon and 5:30 p.m.
This year, the drop-off point will be the small parking lot on Herrington Street which runs between Queen Street and Division Street South, at the north end of Lakeside Park. Free tulip bulbs will be provided to all participants while supplies last.
Donated jack-o’-lanterns will be placed along the pathway in the lower bowl of the park and will light up the night. Visitors are welcome to stroll the bowl between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. while enjoying all the ghoulish gourds and spooky creations, compliments of Kingsville’s fun-loving resident carvers.
The pumpkin parade has quickly become a favourite amongst the many events that take place each year in Kingsville. It’s fun for all ages — and it’s also an eco-friendly way to dispose of your Hallowe’en pumpkins!
After the event, pumpkins are fed to livestock. For this reason it’s important to ensure that donated pumpkins are not painted and do not have any accessories or adornments that could harm the animals that enjoy them after the event.
So, don’t be shy! Bring out your pumpkins! All carving abilities are welcome to participate.
