Essex-Windsor residents trying to connect with the emergency number on Wednesday may reach an ongoing busy signal.
Bell has notified Essex-Windsor EMS that residents in the 519 area code are encountering a busy signal when calling 911 from a landline. Additionally, when calling from a cell phone, there may be a lengthy delay in connecting to 911.
Residents in the County of Essex, the City of Windsor or on Pelee Island who require emergency services, but are experiencing issues reaching 911 can dial 1-800-265-5840.
Bell has confirmed that they are working on correcting the issue.
