On October 12, 2024, at approximately 6:25 a.m., members from the Leamington detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medial Service (EMS) responded to a report of an Intimate Partner Violence incident at a residence in the Municipality of Leamington.

Officers and EMS arrived on scene and transported both parties to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim and accused were known to each other.

As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 91-year-old male from Leamington with the following offence:

·                Attempt to Commit Murder CC 239(1)(b)

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.
