On August 12, 2024, at approximately 1:02 a.m., Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 77 at County Road 8, Municipality of Lakeshore.

Officers arrived on scene along with Lakeshore Fire Rescue and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) to find a vehicle had struck a residence.

As a result of the collision, 4 occupants of the vehicle were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries including a 7-year-old child. No one in the residence sustained any injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with related information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
