On Sunday May 5, 2024, hundreds of riders from our local community and beyond gathered at First Lutheran Church-Kingsville for the annual Blessing of the Bikes. One of our community partners, Hogs for Hospice Leamington, makes this event possible and we are thankful for their partnership in serving our community.
The weather, despite the forecast, was perfect. We thank all the riders who came out and made this day a true blessing!
The day began with a worship service at 10:30am led by Pastor Terry Tieman from Tennessee. The riders then gathered for a blessing service outside, followed by a free lunch and live entertainment by Jack’s Garage.
Blessing of the Bikes marks the beginning of the riding season. While the riders receive a blessing for the riding season this event is also about community awareness of safety on the roadways. We encourage all drivers to be aware of motorcycles as they travel this summer.
If you wonder why our church hosts this annual event, here’s the reason: God asks us to love Him and to love others. While we never do this perfectly, we are certainly privileged and blessed to be able to serve others.
So, mark your calendars for May 4th, 2025, and consider stopping in to be part of Blessing of the Bikes!
