Elisabeth Alonso
Elisabeth Warschun Alonso, beloved wife, mother, and abuela, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024. Born on April 21, 1941, in Montevideo, Uruguay, Elisabeth lived a life full of love. She married Juan Jose in 1964 and shared 60 amazing years of marriage together.
She was the cherished mother of Juan, Jorge, and Carlos. One of Elisabeth’s greatest joys in life came from being an Abuela to Carmen Marie, Felix, Kate, Sophie, Jaci, Siara, Genna, Aiden, and Jack. She is predeceased by her bother Carlos and her grandson Zachary.
Elisabeth worked for over 30 years at Bell Canada as a customer support representative. She spent many of her winters in Florida, where she volunteered at the local elementary school teaching kindergarten children to read. She brought so much light into people’s lives through gifting her wire-wrapped jewelry, making her delicious homemade flan, and the interesting conversations people will remember her for.
Elisabeth will be deeply missed, but her love will live on through her sons and grandchildren. As per Elisabeth’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial in Uruguay will take place at a later date. If desired, donations in Elisabeth’s name may be made to the Jack Miner Sanctuary.
