The Lakeshore Detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal motor collision involving a motor vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle at County Road 42.

On October 24, 2023, at approximately 9:20 p.m., members from the Lakeshore Detachment along with Lakeshore Fire Rescue and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to motor vehicle collision between a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) with a lone driver, and a tractor trailer with one occupant on County Road 42 west of Patillo Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore.

The driver of the SUV, a 20-year-old of Windsor was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Lakeshore OPP is continuing to investigate with the assistance of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team. County Road 42 was closed between Lakeshore Road 103 and Patillo Road for the investigation but has since reopened.
