Essex County Construction and Road Closures Update — Sept. 1, 2023

The following are part of Phase 1 of the County Road 42 construction project:

  • Construction is ongoing on County Road 42 between Banwell Road and Manning Road, and in the surrounding area. Please use caution and obey all flag persons and construction signs. (Map ID#1)
  • County Road 42 is open between Manning Road and Lesperance Road, including the Lesperance intersection. Please use caution and obey all flag persons as restoration continues in the shoulder and boulevard areas. (Map ID#1)
  • County Road 42 is closed from Shiff Drive to Banwell Road beginning Sept. 5 for approximately 8 weeks. Please follow the posted detour and refrain from using neighbourhood roads. (Map ID#2)
  • County Road 42 closures will continue moving westbound toward County Road 43. Watch for details in future updates.

County Road 11 will be closed between County Road 10 and County Road 12 for bridge rehabilitation work beginning June 26 for approximately four months. (Map ID#3)

County Road 20 will have lane restrictions between Ferriss Road and Iler Road beginning Aug. 14 for road construction. (Map ID#4)

County Road 27 will have lane restrictions between County Road 34 and Highway 3 beginning Aug. 24 for road construction. (Map ID#5)

County Road 34 will have lane restrictions between County Road 45 and Road 3 East beginning Aug. 18, for road construction. (Map ID#6)

County Road 46 will have lane restrictions between County Road 23 and Lakeshore Road 203 beginning Sept. 5 for road construction. (Map ID#7)

County Road 50 will have lane restrictions between Dahinda Road and Wright Road beginning in September for road construction. Watch future updates for the start date. (Map ID#8)

Please use caution and obey all flag persons, construction signage and posted detour routes in these areas.

Line painting operations are underway throughout Essex County. Please exercise patience and be prepared to drive slowly through these areas. To prevent damage to your vehicle, please do not drive over the wet paint.
