Kingsville’s Cedar Island Beach Unveils Mobility Mat

The Town of Kingsville is excited to announce the unveiling of its new Cedar Island Beach Mobility (Mobi) Mat. Join Mayor Dennis Rogers, members of Council and representatives from our Kingsville Accessibility Advisory Committee at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023 for a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony.

The ceremony will be followed by the launch of Kingsville’s ‘Play at the Beach’ summer program, featuring fun family activities that encourage unstructured free play and physical literacy skills.

“We’re really pleased to provide this new, portable non-slip mat so people of all abilities using various mobility devices can enjoy our beach,” said Mayor Rogers. “Whether it’s a parent with a stroller, a senior with a beach cart, or a resident in a wheelchair, this mat will make it easier for everyone to navigate.”

Funding for the Mobility mat came from the Ontario Southwest Tourism Relief Fund.

Join the Town Friday, June 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Cedar Island Beach, 875 Cedar Island Drive.

Excellent. I’m so glad to see the town making these kinds of improvements. I also love all the new murals that are popping up all over. More, please. 🙂
