Brianne Taggart has always felt the inner push to become an artist. She says she officially started painting and drawing at age 17.
Brianne is known to especially love sunflower, sunsets and owl subjects. But her patrons are also thrilled with such things as her other impressionistic flowers and hot air balloons, which used sweeping strokes of brilliant colour to convey her artistic messages.
In 2015, Brianne took on another project close to her heart. Understanding the challenges her students have faced, she began teaching learning challenged people from Community Living Essex County to draw and paint. They connected and flourished.
With the onset of the pandemic, Brianne began teaching these students virtually and has been ever since.
Brianne’s generous and other-directed spirit has led her to donate many of her unique paintings for such causes and events as Sunflower 4 Smiles and Ukraine fundraisers. She also enthusiastically participates in many fairs, shows and events that offer her art of sale.
She loves photography. Brianne can be seen with her camera and lenses at such events as the Kingsville Folk Fest (now the Greenway Jam) and many Arts Society of Kingsville events (she is an active member). Many of her superb photographs have inspired her lovely paintings.
A huge advocate for upholding self, Brianne has done inspiring presentations locally on the subjects of how to speak up for yourself and how to treat others.
Brianne feels there is a connection between artistic spirit and nature. She tells how one time she wished she could see a Blue Heron, and, sure enough, one flew right over her and landed nearby. She managed to capture a great photo of it.
