The Lions Club of Kingsville Kick-Starts Erie Shores HealthCare’s New Year with a $20,000 Cheque for Erie Shores Health Foundation
On Friday, January 13th, the Lions Club of Kingsville presented Erie Shores Health Foundation with a cheque for $20,000 directed to Erie Shores HealthCare’s Diagnostic Imaging Renewal Project. Funds were raised from the Lions Club of Kingsville’s first Star Chefs Gala event on November 12th, 2022.

With the December announcement that MRI is coming to Erie Shores HealthCare, the Diagnostic Imaging Renewal Project is beyond exciting for our community. While the provincial government has pledged the operating dollars, it’s up to our community to raise the capital funds required. This donation kicks off that effort to bring an enhanced Diagnostic Imaging program to our hospital.”

The Lions Club of Kingsville’s cheque presentation was the first of the new year for Erie Shores Health Foundation.

Speaking of firsts, this was the Lions Club of Kingsville’s first annual Star Chefs Gala event. It was chaired by Casey van den Heuval of the Kingsville Lions Club and organized entirely by members of the Kingsville Lions Club. The event on November 12th, 2022 at Pelee Island Winery in Kingsville, ON included fine cuisines from appetizers to desserts prepared and served by members of Eat, Drink, Dine, Kingsville.
There was also a variety of great raffle and silent auction prizes donated by fellow organizations throughout the community. The Star Chef’s Gala sold out with a total of 176 guests.
The Lions Club of Kingsville has announced that the second annual Star Chef’s Gala will be hosted on October 13th, 2023 again benefiting Erie Shores HealthCare.
Founded in 1992, the Erie Shores Health Foundation raises funds for Erie Shores HealthCare and Hospice Erie Shores Campus in Essex County. Since the Ministry of Health does not fund that the total costs for Hospital and Hospice, the Foundation works to ensure funding needs are met through raising awareness and support from community donations.
