(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – On December 14, 2022, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex County Street Crime Unit arrested a suspect involved in multiple break and enters and thefts from businesses in the Towns of Tecumseh and Essex, and the Municipalities of Leamington and Lakeshore, between September 30 and December 10, 2022.
Darrin Tylor BASTIEN, 29 years-old of Windsor, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences, pursuant to the Criminal Code:
- Arson – Damage to Property S.434
- Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence S. 348(1)(b) (Eight Counts)
- Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence S. 348(1)(a)
- Dangerous operation S.320.13(1)
- Disguise with Intent S.351(2)
- Flight from peace officer S. 320.17
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court S.145(5)(a) (Two Counts)
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada S.354(1)(a) (Seven Counts)
- Robbery with Violence S.344(1)(b)
- Theft Under $5000 S.334(b)
- Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING S.334(b) (Four Counts)
The accused remains in custody and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice-Windsor.
