One Charged after Shoplifting at Business in Leamington

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – One person has been charged after shoplifting from a local business.

The Leamington Detachment Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a business in the 200 block of Erie Street South, Leamington on November 27, 2022, at approximately 5:50 p.m., after an employee of the store witnessed the person shoplifting.

Officers located the shoplifter at a nearby business and was arrested. During the arrest police also located a quantity of illicit drugs on the accused.

As a result, Mallory TIMLECK, 37, of Chatham, has been charged with:

·        Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

·        Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Leamington January 13, 2023, to answer to the charges.
