The Kingsville Times is a proud partner and supporter of the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society. As a Not-For-Profit organizing, the WECHS depends on the generosity of our community to help pets like Waffles, a 10- month old male Australian Cattle Dog Mix.
This is what Waffles has to say for himself and enjoy he thinks you might fall in love with him.
“Hello, my name is Waffles. I come all the way from Texas and am learning my ‘eh’s’ instead of using my ‘y’all’ now. I am a super sweet and happy youngster, looking for my new home.
“I can be a bit nervous, especially of new things. I don’t think I was socialized much when I was younger, which makes me feel a bit spooked at times. I don’t like feeling rushed or overwhelmed with too much, so it’s important I go to a calm and respectful household with people that will do the right things.
“I am a Cattle dog, which means we exhibit high energy, and some typical breed traits, like mouthiness and herding behaviour. It’s probably best I’m not in a home with young kiddos, because their unpredictable movements or high energy might make things tricky for a guy like me. I would like another playful dog friend, and humans that are understanding of my breed and high energy, and willing to meet all my needs.
“Us Cattle dogs are very smart, which can be a good thing … or a bad thing I guess, depending on how you look at it. We might always be one step ahead of you with our eagerness and quick thinking!
“I am hoping for a home that will involve me in fun activities, and help more on proper training and socialization. I’ve been known to get under the fence, or run by you at the front door, so a home with people who will help me work on these things is best.
“I know I sound like a handful, but please know I have SO much to offer, and know I will make such an incredible dog for the right home. Do you think that’s you?”
If you think you have the time, patience, and love for a young guy like Waffles, then please visit our adoptable dogs/puppies page and find Waffle’s picture to fill out an application so we can discuss this girl more with you!
If you no longer see her picture, that means she has been adopted. Please consider one of her many friends who are still looking for their forever loving homes.
