Wendy Brennan
Wendy Lou Brennan passed away in Colville, Washington with her loving husband, Dan Miller, at her side on September 4th, 2022. That same night, the Northern Lights danced in Northeastern Ontario where her children, Erin (Trevor) Buchmann, Mike Lake, Dain Lake and her grandchildren Brennan, Nora, Graeme, Seth, Zach, and Danika, were able to find comfort in knowing that she was at peace.
To know Wendy was to know unconditional love, loyalty, laughter and strength. She was humble. She was kind. She was thankful.
Wendy grew up in southern Ontario and lived for many years in Kingsville and Leamington where she started her family, became an avid bird watcher and a Friday night euchre legend.
She later moved with her family to Kirkland Lake where she worked at Timiskaming Child and Family Services in all things adoption. Wendy knew that family was created with shared love and she worked passionately to help bring new families together.
After her retirement, Wendy moved with her husband to Seattle and then Colville, Washington, where she fell in love with the mountains and a quieter life.
Wendy loved being outside. Whether it was camping by a northern lake, watching birds in her garden, driving through fields or walking on a warm beach – she was always happiest when she could feel the sun on her face and a breeze in her hair.
She is predeceased by her parents, John Martin Brennan and Hazel Leone Turner and her father-in-law John Michael Miller. She leaves behind her mother-in-law Kay Miller; her sisters, Barbara Brennan, Peggy (Sandy) Brennan, Mary-Jill (Tim) Hasson, Lisa (Kelly) Carr; her brothers John (Lynn) Brennan, Mike Brennan, Mike (Kathi) Miller; several nieces and nephews and her adoring dog Waldo.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of her rich and joyful life at the Kenogami Firehall at 4pm on October 11th. Please wear bright colours and your converse running shoes.
