Meet our Pet of the Week: Dixie
Hello, I’m Dixie! I’m a 7-year-old Shiba, and have quite the unique personality, as most of us Shibas do. I’m actually a super quiet kind of dog. It’s almost like I’m a mix of contentment, but also fear at the same time. I’m the complete opposite of a social butterfly, and really can’t be bothered with too much social interaction. You may find me hiding in other areas because that’s where I feel safest, especially when new strangers come to my home.
I love going for walks and exploring the different sights. But once I feel like I’ve had enough and don’t want to move anymore, it will start feeling like you’re walking dead weight instead. So, it’s probably best I don’t live in an apartment and have a nice yard to myself.
I love car rides. It’s nice to be able to just sit lazily while enjoying all the different sights and smells.
Cats and I? Hahahaha, yeah, we don’t get along.
Dogs? I’m kinda selective … I think my hope would be a home with no animals if I can help it. Just something peaceful for a quiet and reserved girl like myself.
I do need training and someone patient but overall, I am a pretty chill dog. You might not even notice me at times, to be honest.
I know it seems like I’m asking for a lot here, but I am a pretty mellow dog overall. I’m not the jumpy or needy type. I’m not loud or obnoxious like some of those other dogs. I am shy and nervous and might always be this way, but in a calm and cozy home I think my person and I will live contentedly.
So if you have the calm, peaceful household that I’m looking for, then I would love to meet you and find my new home.
