Congratulations  to the Town of Kingsville, to Manager of Recreation Programming and Special Events Karen Loney, our sponsors, and to all the volunteers who made our Canada Day celebration a huge success!

Activities started at 11 a,m. in the Kingsville Arena and Recreation Complex parking lot.

Opening ceremonies included the Mayor’s welcome, a Smudging and Drumming Ceremony by Caldwell First Nation, and our national anthem.

Once again the Kingsville community came out in full force to support the event.

There was no shortage of activities for everyone that attended.

Kingsville’s new electric little town train provided rides and excitement for the kids.

A bouncy castle and bouncy slide gave the little ones a great way to burn up some energy and have some fun.

At the Racing Bouncy Castle where I was volunteering, we had 1492 participants.

There would have been more if the rain hadn’t dampened things.

So much to see and do! We had crafts and a Zoo2U petting zoo.

Pony rides were a great experience for the children.

A foam party was messy fun. Good thing it was outside!

At a safe distance from the foam party, we had a giant chessboard.

We had a strolling magician, face painting, a Starlight Aerialist and border city barkers.

The Kingsville Fire Department had one of their firetrucks on display.

Merchandise and food vendors added to the good times.

Hungry? There were lots of treats and snacks to choose from!

Arrr matey! If you want to talk like a pirate, look like a pirate … there’s a photo booth for that.

If you worked up an appetite taking all those nautical photos, a table loaded with Canada Day cupcakes might have been just the thing.

There were opportunities to engage in quiet and serene outdoor yoga and meditation.

And on the flip side, to stir things up, the crowd enjoyed some live music.

Anybody got a craving for a hot dog, hamburger or sausage on a bun?

They’d have found just what they were looking for at the Lions BBQ.

The day started out with some beautiful weather but later things got ugly.

Due to inclement weather, the fireworks  were postponed.

Fortunately the next evening was dry and clear so the fireworks were held on Saturday, July 2nd

Happy Canada Day everyone!

Blessed and proud to live in Kingsville and be a Canadian, eh?!
