Notice of Public Information Session to Discuss Boarding, Lodging and Rooming Houses

The Town of Kingsville is holding a public information session to receive comments on policies and regulations relating to Boarding, Lodging and Rooming Houses (BLRHs).

Thursday, August 4, 2022

3:00 pm – 4:30 pm, and again from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Unico Community Centre, 37 Beech Street, Kingsville ON

The Town conducted a Temporary Farm Worker study during the first half of 2022, which included public and industry consultation.

At the June 27, 2022 Council meeting, a report was presented and Administration identified four recommendations related to:

  1. Definition and location
  2. Compatibility
  3. Amenities
  4. Licensing

In response, Council directed Town Staff to prepare an Official Plan Amendment (OPA) and Zoning Bylaw Amendment (ZBA) for BLRHs.

This information session is an opportunity for the community to provide feedback on drafted amendments.  These drafted amendments will be provided to the public in advance of this meeting.

The public will have an additional opportunity to comment on the draft amendments during the formal notification period under the Planning Act.

Anyone interested in providing comments is welcome to attend one of the scheduled sessions or provide written comments to:

Richard Wyma
Director of Community and Development Services, Town of Kingsville

Advance materials will be available on the Town’s Have Your Say page the week of July 25, 2022.
