Police Respond to Drowning in Leamington

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – On June 20, 2022, at approximately 2:25 p.m., the Leamington detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible drowning in Lake Erie in the Municipality of Leamington.

Members of the Leamington detachment OPP and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on scene.

Investigation determined that a 24-year-old male was in the water while swimming with friends when he failed to resurface. The individual was pulled from the water by civilian bystanders.

Life saving measures were initiated and continued by paramedics. The male was transported to hospital where he later died.
