John Cleland Benfield

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Cleland Benfield at 81 years of age. John passed away suddenly but peacefully beside his loving wife, Monique.
John met his wife when he was on a duty with the RCMP at the Bank of Canada. He retired from the RCMP with 22 years of service and together John and Monique led a life of retired adventures. They were snowbirds long before it was fashionable and began their life of adventures with strong interests music, painting, and even became a certified tennis pro and certified scuba diver/coach.
John leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 61 years, Monique, his son, John (Deb) and grandchildren, Vanessa and Valarie.
There will be a private family service.
No flowers, by request. If desired, a donation to your favourite charity

I have just seen this obituary and would like to extend my condolences to you Mrs Benfield and John junior on the loss of your husband/father. Have very fond memories of playing bushman up in the Baskitong your father was fierce in tracking us, only kip gave him away. Your parents taught me a great deal and I will always be grateful.
