County Wants Feedback for 2023-2027 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

Feedback Wanted for the County’s 2023-2027 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

The County of Essex needs feedback from community members and stakeholders to assist in the development of its 2023-2027 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan.

The plan will outline how the county will prevent and remove barriers to accessibility, that people with various abilities may face when accessing its programs, services and facilities. Public input will help the County of Essex to continue to improve services to all residents and staff. The 2018-2022 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, which provides background and information, is available on the county’s website.

The County of Essex is committed to meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in a respectful, equitable and timely manner, and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility standards set out in provincial legislation.

The county’s administrative team and the Essex County Accessibility Advisory Committee will review the feedback received during the preparation of the 2023-2027 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, which will then be presented to county council for final approval.

The 2023-2027 County of Essex, Multi-Year Accessibility Plan – Community and Stakeholder Feedback Form is available online. Community members and stakeholders are encouraged to provide as much or little detail as they wish when completing it. The deadline for submitting the form is June 30, 2022.
