Temporary COVID-19 Health Measures for Ontario Will Begin Jan. 5

For indoor businesses:

Starting January 5, retail settings, including shopping malls, will operate at 50% capacity, and physical distancing will be required in line-ups.

Businesses providing personal care services will also be reduced to 50% capacity.

Indoor dining will close at restaurants, bars and other food or drink establishments for a limited time. Outdoor dining with restrictions, takeout, drive through and delivery is permitted.

Indoor sport and recreational fitness facilities including gyms will be required to close. Outdoor facilities will be permitted to operate at 50% occupancy.

For social gatherings and events: 

Indoor social gatherings must be limited to five people. Outdoor social gathering limits will be reduced to 10 people.

Capacity limits at indoor weddings, funerals, and religious services, rites and ceremonies are limited to 50% occupancy.

Outdoor services are limited to the number of people that can maintain two metres of physical distance.
