Wanted Male Located After Flight from Police

(KINGSVILLE, ON) – One person is facing multiple charges after fleeing from a police officer.

On July 4, 2021, at approximately 11:03 a.m. a member from the Kingsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police was nearly struck by a motorist on Palmer Drive in the Town of Kingsville.

OPP officers were investigating an unrelated matter when they observed a male known to be wanted by Essex County OPP. An officer attempted to flag the vehicle over and was forced to take evasive measures to avoid being struck. The officer was not injured in the incident.

Officers located the unoccupied vehicle as short time later.

On July 6, 2021, officers located the wanted male and he was arrested without incident.

Victor Lucier SOUSA, 37 years of age, from Kingsville has been charged the following:

·        Flight from peace officer

·        Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

·        Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

·        Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent

·        Drive while under suspension – Highway Traffic Act

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
