Food for Thought: The Ice Cream Place Review

Greetings readers, If you will indulge me a brief moment, I’d like to share my philosophy on desserts … Just do it.

A hackneyed slogan to be sure, but it perfectly sums up my position. None of our days are promised, so at this age and stage of life I’m eating dessert. Every chance I get. I’d have to say that at the top of my list of favourite desserts is ice cream, followed closely by pie. Ice cream is cold creamy magnificence. I can eat it at any time and in any weather.

Interesting fact about me — I am impervious to ice cream headaches or “brain freeze.” This applies not only to ice cream but to other frozen treats as well, such as piña coladas, which I can consume at an alarming rate. I’m not sure why this is, or how this superpower can be harnessed for the betterment of humanity. I suppose should another ice age occur, my chances of survival are good.

The love I have for ice cream is almost spiritual in nature. I have often said that ice cream is proof of a benevolent force that governs our universe. Jokes aside, I really do believe that for something so perfect to exist, it must have been created by love.

And so it is with love in mind that I offer my next review of The Ice Cream Place in Kingsville.

I’ve decided to go solo (sans Steve) on this review so I can indulge in a bit of alone time. I am an introvert after all. This is not to say that I don’t like people or socializing, but merely that I renew and recharge myself by being alone.

I have a big birthday coming up and I wanted to take stock and inventory of goals achieved and unachieved, and plan for some new goals which will undoubtedly have similar results. I figured there was no reason why I couldn’t have a treat while doing so.

When I arrived at the Ice Cream Place, I was delighted to see favourites such as sundaes and floats on the menu, as well as a great selection of hard ice cream which I prefer to soft.

Once I saw that they had butter pecan I stopped reading. I ordered a sundae with butterscotch topping over my beloved butter pecan ice cream, and went back to my car to enjoy my solitude away from the prying/ judging eyes of others.

At first glance my sundae was almost too beautiful to eat but that thought quickly passed as I barely had time to photograph it before my spoon found its mark. Sweet, creamy and delicious with a slight crunch of pecan. Transcendent.

Thank you to The Ice Cream Place in Kingsville for the awesome sundae. It was definitely food for thought, and although I didn’t have any shattering revelations about my life, I thoroughly enjoyed my sundae and my time away.

I’m certain some of you by now are also needing some time alone. Why not try The Ice Cream Place in Kingsville, and hide away from others like I did?

If you love ice cream as much as I do, this is the place. It says so right in the name.

My husband & I love this place, the twist cone is awesome & dipped in chocolate is even better. Great service too. Thanks.

  2. Again another great read. Also I to have been to the Ice Cream Place, and it is as the author states, very enjoyable…

  3. John & Dorothy!

I remember that location well as I rented it as my 1st office in 1976 as I started a scratch State Farm insurance business at that location! I also enjoy the wide variety of product they supply but I hate the brain freezes I get if I keep ice cream too long in my mouth!!
