Summer student Hanna Boutros
The Kingsville Archives is pleased to announce that once again we will have a summer student working in the Archives. This will be Hanna Boutros’ third summer with us, working under the Canada Summer Student Grant, and because of her past summers with us, little or no training has been necessary.
Hanna will be entering her third year at the University of Windsor and has been looking forward to returning to us. She will be working with us until September 11, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Archives will not be open to the public until further notice. However, Hanna will still be able to assist anyone looking for local history information, as well as answer questions related to genealogy and local families. She will be working alongside our regular volunteers who can assist her with these requests.
Many of our patrons are doing genealogical research, and this is one area where more resources are needed. This is where you can help.
If you have family stories, family histories, or family photos and documents, please consider bringing them in to the Archives. If you do not wish to donate them outright, we can copy them and return the originals to you unharmed.
Something family historians need to consider is the disposition of their records and photos after they’re gone. You can attach a Genealogical Codicil to your will, giving specific instructions regarding these family treasures. The Archives will be happy to share this form with you.
If you are interested in purchasing a copy of our award-winning 2-volume book “Kingsville, 1790-2000: A Stroll Through Time,” we still have copies in the Archives. The cost is $35.00 for this great historical reference book. Just contact us to arrange your purchase.
The Kingsville Archives is operated under the auspices of the Kingsville-Gosfield Heritage Society and sanctioned by the Town of Kingsville.
