It’s Cold Water Swimming Time Again for Joan Murray Barton!

Tony took this picture of me floating in  ice filled Colpoy’s Bay March 12/26

I’m still Cold Water Swimming but the ice has limited my action this past month. However it opened enough for me to get in twice last week. I’ve been CWS for 5 years and this is the first winter I’ve been unable to go in the water because of ice in for this long — 44 days!

The end of the dock opened up this day and for this day only, so I was in. The sun was shining and it was fabulous. Tony made me put a rope on for safety in case there was a current, so he could pull me in.

It’s interesting because March 12/26, the date this photo was taken, was my brother John’s birthday. It’s lovely that I was able to swim on his birthday.

The caption I made for the photo where I’m climbing the ladder was Tony caught and landed the Colpoy’s Bay Mermaid.

I’m known by that name among the fishermen!

Cheers from the Bruce,
~ Joan Murray Barton ~
