‘Woodn’t It Be Nice’ By Martyn Wells Coming This March To The Carnegie

From March 1–25, 2026, Martyn Wells is pleased to present “Woodn’t It Be Nice”, in conjunction with the Arts Society of Kingsville (“ASK”), and the Carnegie Arts & Visitors Centre.

This is a first-time solo exhibition by Martyn Wells, featuring both his 2D and 3D wooden creations.

For over two decades, Martyn has been creating with wood, developing his expertise in its textures, grains and natural character. His pieces range from 3D lighthouses and windmills to relief carvings of dragons, fairies, unicorns and religious iconography.

“I have progressed from making simple signs, to more complex sculptures and themes, some are only 6” in diameter, while others tower over 3 feet high”, said Wells.

“Nature is full of inspiration, and I also do research through the internet. My best carvings are with hardwoods such as maple, ash and walnut.”

“As a member of numerous art organisations, such as the Arts Society of Kingsville, (ASK), Leamington Arts Centre, (LAC), the Gibson Gallery, Walkerville Arts Collective, (WAC), and others, my work is often in group exhibits. My pieces have been displayed and sold at shows and festivals in South Western Ontario, such as Lavenderfest, The Uncommon Festival, Art by the River, and many other local events.”
