Scotties ‘Girls Rock’ Curling Event Saturday Feb. 28 in Leamington

The 2026 Winter Olympics are over, but the spirit of winter sport is still strong in Leamington! The Sun Parlour Curling Club is reminding the community that its special Scotties “Girls Rock” Curling Event takes place this Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the club, 55 Seacliff Drive East in Leamington.

The free, female-led, try-curling event is designed for girls aged 9 to 16 and celebrates the power of sport while highlighting strong female role models. The Sun Parlour Curling Club is one of only 25 clubs across Canada selected by Scotties to host this national initiative.

Participants will enjoy a fun and welcoming introduction to curling — no experience required. The afternoon includes hands-on instruction, lunch, selfie stations, and a curling swag bag for each participant.

This sold out event was limited to 40 participants, with advance registration required. “The response from the community was strong, and we are pleased to have all available spaces filled by young ladies looking to try out curling,” says Melissa Paine, the Sun Parlour Curling Club General Manager.
