On September 18, 2025, a 58-year-old man was wounded by gunshots fired by Windsor Police Service officers. The man passed away two days later, the result of complications from those wounds.
The SIU was notified of the incident and initiated an investigation, naming three officers as subject officials.
The investigation is now concluded.
On his assessment of the evidence, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that any officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the shooting.
