The Town of Essex is inviting residents to attend an Open House on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre (Harrow Arena) to learn more about the Drainage Act and its role in managing municipal drains across the community.
The informal, drop-in style event will provide residents, particularly those living in rural or agricultural areas, an opportunity to speak directly with Town staff and gain a better understanding of how the Drainage Act affects their properties.
“Municipal drains play a vital role in supporting our local agriculture and protecting private property,” said Sherry Bondy, Mayor of the Town of Essex. “This Open House is a great opportunity for residents to ask questions and learn how the Drainage Act helps ensure responsible water management for property owners.”
Town staff will be available throughout the evening to answer questions and provide information. No formal presentation will be given, and residents are encouraged to attend at any time during the two-hour session.
