Students from WONDERfield Community School in Grades 4–8 recently brought their classroom studies to life during a field trip to Stratford, Ontario, to experience Shakespeare’s As You Like It at the world-renowned Stratford Festival.
Before attending the performance, students had already read and discussed the play in class, deepening their understanding of Shakespeare’s characters, themes, and wit.
Seeing As You Like It performed on stage offered a vivid extension of their learning—transforming words on a page into an energetic, laughter-filled experience.
The day began with an interACTive preshow workshop led by three Stratford Festival actors.
Students explored acting techniques, learned about tableau drama, and even collaborated to compose a poem in Shakespeare’s distinctive language style.
Following the workshop and performance, students enjoyed a picnic lunch outdoors in the park, surrounded by the natural beauty of Stratford’s riverside setting.
