It’s almost Thanksgiving, and Hallowe’en isn’t far behind. Thanksgiving can be a great tradition but some traditions can ring up a tall grocery bill if your wallet is bordering on empty. In lean times, it can be hard to feel thankful.
As for Hallowe’en, in the Olden Days, costumes were usually pulled together using whatever you could find at home, but that type of transformation is less common these days. And the cost of buying Hallowe’en candy may seem a small matter for some households but for others, it can contribute to bringing a family budget close to the edge.
What to do if you have more expenses than you can cover? Never mind a Thanksgiving spread or Hallowe’en candy. What if after you pay your bills, you can’t afford groceries?
The Kingsville Community Food Bank is always ready to bring some welcome relief, this time of year, and any other time. We appreciate the Food Bank volunteers, and our community members for their help in meeting needs.
Here’s a wish list of items that the Food Bank is looking for in October:
They also welcome gift cards for groceries, products for babies, pet supplies including dog and cat food, laundry and dish detergents, toilet paper, paper towels, and more. Cardboard boxes and cloth bags are always welcome.
If you can help, the Food Bank thanks you for your generosity.
The Food Bank is now located at 21 Mill Street West in Kingsville. You can also use their drop-off bin inside Zehrs, shown in the picture below.
