On September 11, 2025, at approximately 9:07 p.m., a member from the Essex County OPP Detachment was on patrol along County Road 23 in Kingsville.
The officer observed a vehicle travelling without proper lighting and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking to the driver, it was determined that the driver had previously consumed alcohol. During the investigation, the officer also located a substance suspected to be cocaine. Essex County OPP Canine Unit was on scene with General Service Dog Vinny and located additional suspected cocaine.
The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further testing.
As a result, a 47-year-old male from Windsor was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on September 24, 2025.
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days, and the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days as per statute.
