Greetings, dear friends! As some of you may already know, I will be participating in my eighth consecutive Terry Fox Run in Kingsville this Sunday, September 14th! Since 2018, I have been on a mission to raise $10,000 for cancer research over ten years, and I’m so grateful to say I am on track to meet that goal! To date, I have raised $6,405 for this vital cause thanks to the support of my generous sponsors.

I’d like to briefly share three reasons why 2025 is the ideal time to give …
1) This year marks the 45th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope, and you can commemorate the occasion by making a donation to the cause Terry Fox dedicated his life to. In 1980, Terry Fox showed us that one person has the ability to make a huge difference. Forty-five years on, over $900 million dollars has been raised in his name for cancer research, bringing hope and healing to generations of patients.
2) With the Trump administration seeking to drastically cut funds to the National Institutes of Health and many other integral scientific and medical research organizations in the U.S., Canadian leadership in the critical field of cancer research will be more important than ever before.
This year, Canadians have embraced our country and what it stands for in many ways, including the “Buy Canadian” movement. Now is the time to “Donate Canadian!” Your gift will fund the Terry Fox Research Institute, an organization all Canadians can be proud of.
The TFRI has international experts evaluate the excellence and the potential for impact of all its research projects. This approach distinguishes their research investment strategy from all others in Canada and allows donors to be confident that their investment is supporting the top five per cent of Canadian researchers and their science.
3) The theme of this year’s Terry Fox Run is FINISH IT. This bold statement is a call for all of us to follow in Terry’s footsteps to fund cancer research, helping take his Marathon of Hope across the finish line.
