Mental Health Mighties with Danny G: Don’t Worry What They Think

Be kind, focus on your life, and don’t worry what they think.

You may already have heard this in your life —

“It looks hard. Maybe you should try something else.”

“It will take a long time to accomplish that.”

“Don’t take a chance. It might not work out for you.”

“You have an illness. You might not have credibility or be taken seriously.”

“You should be more like this person.”

Well, if you haven’t heard this, I certainly have heard words that resemble this. Do I feel bad about that? Absolutely NOT!

Here is why I do not take this personally and neither should you. When people don’t want you to succeed, it has nothing to do with you and more to do with them.

Let me explain. They do not have the confidence or believe in themselves that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. They feel that they cannot reach their own goals and do not want to see others happy when they reach theirs.

So, what do they do? They will discourage you and make you believe that the possible is impossible. They want you to stay on the level they are at, so that can make them feel better and more comfortable.

It is not that they hate you, but they have insecurities about themselves.

They could also believe that you have the potential to succeed and it becomes a threat to them. It is because they do not feel they can succeed, even though they can.

The people who do not want you to succeed are not bad people .They are mostly good people who need to find the strength to believe in themselves and know they can achieve success as well. I would encourage them any way I can.

However, there are those who do the wrong things and gossip about you. I call them the back talkers. The people who talk behind your back do so because deep inside, they know you are doing well with your life. So, they spread false rumors about you to make them feel powerful. In reality, they are not happy people.

I know of a few people who used to say the worst false rumors about me. They used to tell the community that I did drugs, when in reality I never put anything bad in my body. Their life was so miserable that they felt the need to make me look bad.

But, the thing I did was continue moving forward and focus on my life. Surpassing bad talkers is not arrogance, but a necessity. You don’t want to be stuck around people who are trying to hold you back.

One person told the community I was insane based upon my OCD.

I am not my OCD. I am rational and intelligent to know the difference between right and wrong. I am not a fool to listen to a fool. My illness will NEVER stop me from succeeding. We create our limitations. I raise my expectations and standards.

When people talk behind your back and don t want me to succeed, just say, “That is so sweet. I am on their mind.”

You see, my friends, we are going to get people in our life that do not want to see us do well. So, should you listen to them and believe them?

NO! Keep going. This is your life. You are not living your life to please other people. You are making your life because that is why you are here.

Don’t succeed to prove others wrong. They will notice that on their own. Do everything for you.

Do not hate the people who don’t want you to do well. As I mentioned, it is not about you. Plus hating others will consume you. And it will halt your progress.

We are all responsible for our own life, so that is why people should focus on their own life and not worry about what others are doing.

The people who I keep in my life are the ones who have their best interests at heart and encourage me all the way every time I accomplish something. The people who have your best interest at heart are there for you when you are at your lowest. I cherish these people, as you should do.

Form a circle with the people who uplift you to reach your goals when you need a little momentum and motivation.

You are put here to do something incredible because you are incredible. Believe it wholeheartedly.  Trust in your ability and your willingness to make a difference in your life.

God bless you and never give up.
