At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Council:
- Approved a Zoning Amendment Application to create zone provisions for Additional Dwelling Units (ADUs) on parcels of urban residential land in the Municipality of Leamington and added definitions regarding same in Zoning By-law 890-09, as amended.
- Approved a Zoning Amendment Application to amend barrier-free parking requirements to unify local requirements with those of the Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act; added definitions for Donation Centre, Commercial Deck, and Food Truck; and updated other minor administrative matters within the by-law.
- Approved a Zoning By-law Amendment Application for 311 Erie Street South to permit the construction of a new drive-through restaurant, reducing parking requirements, setbacks, and required landscaped open space.
- Authorized the purchase and implementation of CityWide Maintenance Manager Solution from PSD CityWide Inc., in the amount of $63,700 excluding HST to be funded from the IT Reserve.
- Awarded a tender for the Mersea Park Renewal project to Barrineti Construction Ltd., in the amount of $3,058,936 plus application taxes with the additional $395,294 to be funded from the Parks Reserve.
- Awarded a tender for the Promenade Cycle Track Installation project to Lyncon Construction Inc., in the amount of $306,196, plus applicable taxes and funded the additional $61,585 from the Waterfront Reserve.
- Retained RC Spencer Associates Inc., in the amount of $199,850, to complete the engineering services for the Leamington Waterfront Market Plaza.
- Assumed the municipal works installed in the Southwinds Estates Subdivision Phase 2; accepted the surface course of asphalt and final pavement markings; and began the required one-year maintenance period for the surface course of asphalt and final pavement markings on October 19, 2023.
- Removed 105 Erie Street South for the purpose of demolition from the Municipal Register of Heritage properties.
- Removed 198 Talbot Street East for the purpose of partial demolition from the Municipal Register of Heritage properties.
