Library Hosts G.A. Grisenthwaite on National Indigenous Peoples Day


June is National Indigenous History Month. National Indigenous Peoples Day falls on June 21, 2023. In honour of this, our title for the 2023 season of One Book, One County is Home Waltz, written by G.A. Grisenthwaite, a Nlaka’pamux writer from Canada.

His debut novel Home Waltz was a shortlisted finalist for the Governor General’s Award for English-language fiction at the 2021 Governor General’s Awards.

A member of the Lytton First Nation, Grisenthwaite worked as a graphic designer in Vancouver and Kelowna, before completing his master’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor in the late 2010s. He currently resides in Kingsville.

Please come and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day at the Kingsville Branch of the Essex County Library on Wednesday, June 21.
