Effective 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, Mayor Nelson Santos officially lifted the Covid-19 pandemic and shoreline flood monitoring emergencies within the Town of Kingsville.
The original Declaration of Emergency was declared on March 22, 2020 under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act. The declaration gave the municipality access to tools, funding, and resources to protect residents’ health and safety.
Acknowledging decreased rates of infection along with sustained water levels, the Town believes that it is time to safely lift the nearly two-year-old state of emergency.
“While the declaration of emergency is officially lifted, the public is encouraged to follow Covid-19 related recommendations and measures to ensure we continue to protect ourselves and the community,” expressed Mayor Santos.
“On behalf of Town Council and staff, I want to sincerely thank the residents and business of Kingsville for your ongoing efforts to help minimize the impacts of the pandemic in our community. We remain grateful to all of our frontline workers and health care community for their incredible efforts throughout this time and for their continued focus in supporting residents’ health and wellbeing.”
