The Front Road Storm Sewer Reconstruction project is scheduled to begin, Tuesday, March 3. The reconstruction area includes the section of Front Road from Boismier Avenue to Reaume Road. This work will include lane restrictions along Front Road beginning Monday, March 9.
Major traffic delays are expected. Alternate routes should be considered, as well as adding extra travel time. Detour signs will be posted to help guide traffic.
Throughout the project, traffic lanes will be reduced from four (4) to two (2) lanes, and turning restrictions will be in place.
Lane Restrictions
Front Road from Lafferty Avenue to Boismier Avenue (one lane will remain open in each direction).
Intersection Closures
The following intersections with Front Road will be temporarily closed:
- Maple Avenue
- Kenwood Avenue
- Delaware Avenue
- Sacred Heart Drive
- Boismier Avenue
Business Access
Access to businesses along the corridor will remain open; however, temporary closures may occur as construction progresses. The contractor (JJ Lepera) will provide alternate access options when needed.
Project Timeline
This section of the project is expected to take a minimum of two months. Additional work near Reaume Road is scheduled to begin in mid-March. Further updates will be provided as that work approaches. We thank you for your patience while the work is in progress.
