The first culvert replacement project of 2026 for the County of Essex begins this coming Monday, March 2, 2026, in the Town of Essex, along the Southern Shore.

Construction at the Lonsberry Drain Culvert on County Road 50 is currently underway. The road is scheduled to close this coming Monday morning, for a duration of approximately 12 weeks.

The closure is a short stretch between County Road 13 and County Road 23, just east of Colchester.

Please follow the posted detour, and please avoid using local roads to bypass the area.
