Are you thinking about running for a municipal council or school board in the October 2026 election?
The County of Essex is hosting a free information session on Wednesday, April 8, for anyone interested in learning more about the rules and procedures for running for office in Ontario.
The event will be held in person at the County of Essex Administration Building from 6 to 9 p.m. and attendees can also participate remotely via Zoom. The meeting is free to attend though registration is required due to seating capacity limits.
Presentations will be made by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, which oversees Ontario’s 444 municipalities and municipal elections, and Clerks on Call, a consulting agency staffed with municipal experts with both administrative and political experience.
There will be opportunities for attendees to ask questions and to pick up prospective candidate packages from their respective municipalities, which will all have information booths set up during the event.
