The brightness of the lights and decorations from the holidays is dwindling until next Christmas. Winter stretches out ahead of us with its long nights and cold temperatures.
For many people, expenses have run high for the last few months and it’s time for financial reckoning. January can stir the desire to close the curtains and hibernate. But life must go on! And bills must be paid. For those with few resources this can be a precarious time.
The Kingsville Community Food Bank is kicking off 2026 doing what they always have done. They are bridging the gap for those whose wallets are too thin. We appreciate the volunteers as well as our community members, as they continue to care for those in need.
Here’s a list of items that the Food Bank is looking for in January:

They also welcome gift cards for groceries, products for babies, pet supplies including dog and cat food, laundry and dish detergents, toilet paper, paper towels, and more. Cardboard boxes and cloth bags are always welcome. If you can help, the Food Bank thanks you for your generosity.
They now accept etransfers at kingsvillefoodbank@gmail.com or you can click this link to donate.
The Food Bank is located at 21 Mill Street West in Kingsville. You can also use their drop-off bin inside Zehrs, shown in the picture below.
