Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is currently experiencing operational issues with the hospital boiler system. As a result, some areas of the building are fluctuating in temperature.
The boiler system issues are also impacting the Medical Device Reprocessing Department, limiting the ability to reprocess medical equipment.
At this time, the decision has been made to cancel all elective surgeries for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28th. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as needed.
CKHA is working closely with the external boiler service specialists, who are on site, to diagnose and resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible. Every effort is being made to restore full service and maintain a comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
