The Greater Essex County District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Trustees, Cheryl Lovell and Chandrika Abhang. 

Cheryl Lovell will represent the Leamington/Pelee Island area, while Chandrika Abhang will represent LaSalle/Amherstburg. 

Their appointments were made following a public interview process and Board vote during a Special Board Meeting held on December 15, 2025. Both Trustees will be sworn in at 4:00 p.m. on December 16, 2025, and will then attend the regular Board Meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m.
