Skate Lakeshore will kick off the holidays with an expanded Winter Gala showcase on Saturday, December 20 at 10:30am. Performances will feature exhibitions by three of its Silver Stars Synchronized Skating teams, a guest performance by the Skate Amherstburg Diamond Divas as well as solo skaters of all ages.

“The Winter Gala is a great opportunity for the skaters to showcase what these skaters have been working on so far this season,” says Jenn Woodrich, Skate Lakeshore head coach.

“We’re so excited to see our Star Skate program expanding, and for skaters heading into competition season, it’s a perfect opportunity to perform their programs in front of a cheering audience, especially as part of holiday celebrations.”

All are welcome to attend the Skate Lakeshore Winter Gala at the Atlas Tube Centre on Saturday, December 20 at 10:30am in Rink C. Admission is by donation of a non-perishable food item or mitts, socks, or warm item to support the Lakeshore Community Support Centre.

Over the coming months, the Skate Lakeshore Silver Stars Synchro teams will perform at a variety of venues, leading to the Skate Lakeshore Provincial Series #14 in February.

Skate Lakeshore will also host a free public skating event so that community members can enjoy the sport of skating over the holiday season. On Sunday, December 28 from 2pm – 3:20pm, everyone is welcome to enjoy a free skate in Rink C at the Atlas Tube Centre.

Skate Lakeshore is a not-for-profit organization that strives to make skating fun for everyone. It is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers and offers skating programs that range from age 3 to adult.
