At the Leamington Council meeting of Tuesday, December 9, 2025, Council will:
- Hold a public meeting under the Planning Act to consider an amendment to Leamington’s Zoning By-law with regard to 918 Point Pelee Drive. The property currently has three cottages (918, 920, and 922 Point Pelee Drive) and the amendment would split the property into three separate lots, each with its own title and tax roll number.
- Consider awarding the 2025 Road Resurfacing Project to Shepley Road Maintenance in the amount of $607,331 (Plus HST).
- Consider a new policy that combines two previous policies regarding water supply to greenhouse operations. The new, updated policy, better reflects the operating procedures and standards of the Municipality.
- Consider a report regarding taxicab meters and fares. The report is a follow-up to a previous direction of Council that requires taxicabs to operate on a meter basis. Council will also consider a fare of $4.00 drop rate; $1.58/km meter rate; $ .50/min for wait times.
- Consider authorizing a 2-year renewal agreement with the Township of Pelee (Pelee Island) for the joint enforcement of the Building Code Act.
- Consider a by-law for the calculation of the Municipality’s 2026 Interim Tax Levy. It will also set the first two installment due dates as Friday, February 27 and Thursday, April 30, 2026.
- Consider authorizing a 3-year contract extension with M&S Janitorial Services Ltd. for a total amount of $586,615 (Plus HST) over the term of contract (2026-2028).
- Consider approving the Development Control Agreement with 2743331 Ontario Inc. to proceed with Phase 3 of the Golfwood Lakes Subdivision to create 23 single detached residential units as well as 15 Townhouse Blocks creating 60 residential units.
- Consider a by-law correcting a previously enacted by-law to accurately reference properties in the Southwind Estates Subdivision.
