OPP Investigating Theft Of Two Tractor Trailers

Investigators believe a Jeep Rubicon may be involved in the thefts

Members of the Essex County OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) is currently investigating the theft of two transport trucks.

On September 27, 2025, at 8:26 p.m., a theft of a transport truck including a 53-foot enclosed trailer occurred from an address in the 1900 block of Ellis Sideroad in the Town of Tecumseh. The trailer was loaded with cases of salsa and dip with a total value of approximately $35,000.00. The transport truck was later returned to the location damaged without the trailer.

On September 27, 2025, at 9:38 p.m., a theft of a second transport truck without a trailer occurred from an address in the 2800 block of North Talbot Road in the Town of Tecumseh.

The transport truck that was stolen from the North Talbot Road address was later observed on County Road 34 in the Town of Essex towing what investigators believe was the enclosed trailer stolen for the Ellis Sideroad address.

On September 29, 2025, the transport truck from the North Talbot Road theft was recovered in Ajax, Ontario. The stolen trailer and the cargo remain outstanding.

Investigators believe a Jeep Rubicon was observed in the area and that it may be involved in the thefts.
