Great Migration Paint Out Winners Announced for 56th Migration Festival

Over the weekend, people from all over the region participated in the 56th annual Migration Festival, a Kingsville tradition celebrating migration, our Town’s heritage, dedication to nature conservation, and Jack Miner.

Families lined up Saturday to see the parade steady down Main Street, later joining in the parade to “Walk to the Park” at Lakeside Park to see the market, see shows, carve pumpkins, and more.

The Great Migration Paint Out, an outdoor “plein air” painting competition, for youth and adults began Thursday and continued throughout the weekend. Artists set up their easels in front of the landscapes of Kingsville, casting their own view on canvas.

Artists then showcased their talented work at the “Art Show and Sale” this past Sunday at the Grovedale Arts and Culture Centre. Over 450 people came to view the art, purchase, cast their vote for the “People’s Choice Award” and listen to the award ceremony.
